Hardin-Simmons 103, Rhema College 56
Hardin-Simmons University reeled off its third straight win
Tuesday night with a 103-56 romp over Rhema College (Okla.) in
the HSU Classic at the Mabee Complex.
HSU will conclude play in its own classic with a non-conference
game against American Southwest Conference foe Sul Ross State
at 3 p.m. today.
The Cowboys, who have won three straight since scaring Division
I Texas-El Paso in a five-point season-opening loss on Friday,
rode the hot shooting of junior college transfer Cserdis Anderson
in Tuesday's game.
Anderson was 11 of 13 from the field and 6 of 7 from the foul
line in scoring a game-high 28 points. Freshman Kevin Breaux was
the only other Cowboy in double figures with 10 points.
HSU jumped out to a 46-25 halftime lead and continued to pour
it on, outscoring Rhema 57-31 in the final 20 minutes. The Cowboys
shot 59 percent from the field for the game.
Eric Baker paced Rhema with 18 points.
