Abilene completes game but loses
TYLER - The Abilene Prairie Dogs finally completed their second game of the season.
Ramon Cedeno hit a tie-breaking solo home run in the seventh inning as the Tyler Wildcatters beat the Prairie Dogs, 7-4, Wednesday in the first game of a doubleheader.
Tyler led 3-2 when the game, which began on May 23, resumed in the bottom of the third inning.
Abilene got all of its first-game offense in the fourth inning when Jeff Motes hit a controversial two-run home run to give the Prairie Dogs a 4-3 lead. Motes' shot hit the branches that hang over the outfield before coming down against the wall. The umpires ruled it a home run.
But it was all downhill from there for the Prairie Dogs.
Sean Collins' RBI double in the sixth tied the score at 4-4.
Cedeno homered to make it 5-4 and Cory Gafford's double off the wall in the eighth inning scored two insurance runs and completed the scoring.
Javier Gomez (2-1) earned the win.
Korey Keling (0-3) gave up 10 hits and seven runs in his first complete game of the season. He allowed six walks, but three came on May 23.
