Errors cost Abilene Senior in loss; Abilene
Junior loses
WACO - San Antonio McAlister Park scored four runs in the ninth
inning without a hit to eliminate Abilene Senior from the Senior
League state tournament with a 14-10 victory.
Abilene Senior committed four errors in the inning.
Abilene Senior scored twice in the fourth and three times in
the fifth to take an 8-4 lead before McAlister Park scored six
runs in the seventh.
But Abilene Senior refused to fold, scored twice with two outs
in the bottom of the seventh to force the extra frames. Ross Short
tripled with two outs and scored on a single by Elliot Strader.
An error on the pitcher and a single by Jared Peel produced the
tying run before Paul Mock was thrown out on the bases at third
to send the game to extra innings.
Seven errors offset a fine offensive game for Abilene Senior,
which collected 17 hits in the loss.

Brandon Law (7), Craig Forman (7), Kevin Evans (8) and Elliot
Strader.
Lamar 26, Abilene Junior 0
Lamar battered Abilene Junior pitchers for a 26-0 victory in
the second round of the Junior League state tournament.
Lamar collected 16 hits and took advantage of 13 walks to score
in every inning. Lamar sent 12 batters to the plate in the first
inning and 16 to bat in the third.
Meanwhile three Lamar pitchers limited Abilene to one hit,
a single by Scott Forman.
