Bulldogs remain unbeaten in district play

The Wylie baseball team remained unbeaten in District 6-3A play Monday night with a 13-3 trouncing of Breckenridge.

Wylie jumped all over Breckenridge early, as Jacob Pruitt crushed a two-run home run in the first inning and Grant Gregg smashed a bases-loaded triple in the second. Gregg's triple keyed a 5-run second inning. After the first two innings, Wylie held a 7-0 lead.

"Mark Deffenbaugh led off the game by getting hit by a pitch and then Pruitt did a good job of staying alive with 2 strikes before the homer," said Wylie coach Clay Martin. "We got ahead 7-0 and that pretty much set the tone for the game,"

Ryan Starks also had a big night for Wylie, picking up three hits and an RBI for the Bulldogs.
