San Angelo Lake View 69, Wylie 57

SAN ANGELO -- San Angelo Lake View pulled away in the second half for a 69-57 victory Tuesday over the Wylie boys basketball team, handing the Bulldogs their first loss of the season.

Wylie led 34-32 at halftime and opened the second half with the first four points to grab a 38-32 lead. But it was all Lake View the rest of the way as the Chiefs steadily pulled away.

"We played real well in the first half, playing tempo we wanted," Wylie coach Kirby Chandler said. "But we didn't play with a lot of energy in the second half. We have to be very active for us to be successful, and we weren't very active either offensively or defensively in the second half."

Dean Beasley scored 19 points to pace Wylie, which fell to 3-1 on the season.

Lake View is now 2-0.
