Woods enters Buick Classic
HARRISON, N.Y. (AP) - Tiger Woods, a record 12-stroke winner
in the Masters and five-time PGA Tour winner in his brief pro
career, officially entered next week's Buick Classic.
"We are excited about the addition of Tiger to the Classic
field," tournament director Dede Patterson said Friday. "It
is a great opportunity for New York golf fans to see one of the
rising stars of the game."
The three-time U.S. Amateur champion played in the 1994 Buick
Classic as an amateur, missing the cut with rounds of 75 and 70.
The tournament begins Thursday at the Westchester Country Club.
