Tiger on TV

If Tiger Woods is in contention going to the last round of
the Masters this year CBS Sports will be twice blessed. Not only
does the network once again have broadcast rights to the Masters
but it will also air a one-hour Woods special right before final-round
coverage.
The show "Tiger Woods: Son, Hero and Champion" will
be shown at 3 p.m. EDT on Sunday, April 13. The show will include
interviews with Woods' mother and father and contain footage from
his recent trip to Thailand.
"This is not a look at Tiger Woods inside the ropes, but
a look at Tiger Woods outside the ropes," said CBS vice president
for programming Rob Correra. "This will be a look at the
changes Woods brings to golf."
Correra said the show will place Woods' brief career in the
perspective of what Jackie Robinson, Jessie Owens and Arthur Ashe
brought to their sports.
While the show will likely be an entertaining and interesting
watch, don't expect any starting revelations. The producer is
Brian Williams of International Management Group - Woods' agency
- and among those interviewed on his impact is Phil Knight, CEO
of Nike, the company paying Woods $40 million.
